Lauryn That’s Me
The Journey of a Powerful African Girl
This book celebrates my Afro-Portuguese heritage from Cabo Verde and São Tomé and Principe while sharing the unique experience of being raised by a solo mother. Through its pages, I aim to inspire children, educate them about Black History, and promote self-love, helping young readers see themselves represented in literature for the first time.
Welcome to My World
Hi, I’m Lauryn
Hi, my name is Lauryn! I’m an 11-year-old multi-awarded kidpreneur, author, social activist, and public speaker. Proudly of Afro-Portuguese descent, I’m passionate about celebrating diversity, empowering children, and advocating for positive representation of minority backgrounds in literature and media. I’m the youngest author of Afro-Portuguese heritage to publish a book in the UK, Lauryn That’s Me: The Journey of a Powerful African Girl. My book shares stories inspired by my heritage and experiences, aiming to encourage self-love, celebrate Black history, and highlight the beauty of African culture.
